Uniformity inside and out

The T65 telephone had a plastic cover and a handle at the back so it could be picked up and carried easily with one hand. The volume of the integrated bell could be adjusted using a wheel on the bottom of the device.

When it was introduced in 1965, this telephone was light grey, with cream-coloured caps on the receiver. From 1972 it was also available in orange, ruby, ivory, azure, emerald and, for a short time, black, according to the customer’s preference. In 1974 it was equipped with push buttons, a version that was available in a range of colours from 1977. Despite these many different variants, this was the most standardised telephone available.
